Old weathered chair I planted
chair.jpg

I like to use old chairs as container planters. Just find one where the seat can be removed, then staple mesh screening over the opening (be sure to leave  about 4 inches extra in the seat area to hold the soil). This one used to be sponge-painted a sage green with gold highlights, but over the past few years it has weathered. I like the look and so decided not to re-paint it this year.
